Practice makes a little better..i guess

Well it was a typical rainy day over here in Morro bay yesterday, so Aaron & I decided to go take some photos.  We would love to be able to take photos of other people, but being that there was no one else around we brought out the tri-pod.  You are so limited when you are using a tri-pod, and although we had ordered a remote, it hadn't arrived yet.  It is probably quite the show to watch us on one of these makeshift photo shoots, because one of us is running full speed trying to beat the 10 second timer after we push the button, and usually the runner just barely makes it.  And if we are lucky the one on the run ends up in a somewhat decent pose.  It doesn't matter all that much if they turn out good, we just LOVE having fun taking them.  Here are a few from yesterday...

This afternoon i got to relive the fun & excitement of instantly going from a scrawny little kid to a sophisticated grown up. Today Hailey was over and went through my closet, (which is not a well stocked as our dress up box my mom had made), and found her "grown up" self.  Much to her dismay we did not put on lipstick or eyeshadow, but we did curl her hair, and then she modeled her new look for me!

She was either camera shy, or...

was making a funny face

Morro bay in Winter...yep, i am laying out in January!!!

Skipping all the non-exciting things that went on today in the life of Ashley, and going straight to the afternoon highlight!!  Home-made fresh bread and some good coffee.

We try to take both of our dogs on a walk at least two times a day, because they are "inside" dogs, and they need their chance to play outside, ( Or they go insane)!!  Tonight i took my camera on our evening stroll.
We take them on this little trail up this hill, which is right outside our back door.  It is so wonderful taking them up here, not only do you not have to have them on a leash EVER, but it is so peaceful, and its a great place to watch the sun set!  Also, i have never ran into another person up there, so you feel like you have the whole hill all to yourself.
Riley likes it for her own reasons, she trains rigorously for the day she will be a hunting dog, or maybe just a tracking dog.  She trains for both, there are plenty of squirrels, birds & raccoons to keep her entertained!
I LOVE the view.   All the way up you can see the ocean.  There are lots of trees that get in the way of an unobstructed view, but i enjoy that. The trees make it interesting, and always reminds me of a piece of artwork.

i absolutely LOVE this quilt, and it was only
five dollars!
Well, Aaron & I went to the Hanford swap meet, (which is one of our favorite things ever!), and i got a bunch of awesome stuff!  Here are a few of the things that i got, and in attempt to decorate the house in the absolute cheapest way possible I hung the five dollar quilt on the one dollar shelf, put the two dollar bottles on it, and hung the free chandelier!  All for a grand total six dollars!  Now that is my kind of decorating:)

so, i am still trying to figure out how i want this chandelier to work, but this is what i have come up with so far. (any suggestions?)

i am obsessed with old things, and these old bottles are no exception

all six dollars in action

i also got this great little umbrella
So, this is my first attempt at "blogging", and not having anything else very exciting going on today besides class, gym, & babysitting i figured this would work.  Hopefully the excitement in my life picks up soon so i have so actual things to write about!
